About the role

We are looking for a Supervisor Production to lead a team of operators and managing the load and haul operations to achieve safety, production and quality targets.

Yandi AHS Mine Production team operates 30 x Komatsu 930E AHT’s, 3 x Komatsu PC5500’s, 4 x Hitachi E3600 and 4 x Letourneau LT-2350’s as well as an ancillary fleet of dozers, loaders, watercarts and graders. Yandi has been pioneering autonomous innovations for the past four years and will continue this as a business priority of improving safety and productivity.

This role ensures safe and efficient AHS operations by managing people, partnerships, production and cost. Supervisors will also identify opportunities for improvement in the pit process, undertake a range of support activities and assist the Superintendents as required. Working a 8/6/7/7 FIFO roster and reporting to the Superintendent Production, you will have: 

• Significant experience working in a large scale, open pit mining environment with AHS technology
• Successful track record in managing large teams in a production mining operation
• Unrestricted manual 'C' Class Driver's licence
• Restricted or Unrestricted Quarry Manager's Ticket desirable
• Certificate IV or higher in Frontline Management
• Diploma in Metalliferous Mining desirable
• Proven ability to ‘think outside the box’ and demonstrate the Rio Tinto ethos of pioneering innovation
• Commitment to develop an extensive understanding of the AHS Front Runner System
• Exposure to mine planning systems

Located 95km north-west of Newman, Yandicoogina offers a range of fly in fly out rosters. As one of Australia's largest-producing iron ore mines; operating a fleet of autonomous trucks and drills, it generates more than 55 million tonnes of Hammersley Iron Yandi (HIY) fines each year.
