About the Role
An opportunity has become available for a Production Supervisor at our Tarrawonga Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent you will supervise the day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe operation through your leadership of the teams. Contribute to the achievement of mine planning production budgets and forecasts whilst complying with statutory laws, policies and procedures. You will be responsible for leading production crews in Coal Mining and Waste removal. This is a local Gunnedah based role which requires the successful applicant to either live in or relocate to the region. Whitehaven offers support and great relocation packages.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure efficient and productive deployment of Production resources
- Contribute to Daily and weekly mine planning processes
- Monitor operations and act as required to ensure plan compliance
- Supervise production operators to ensure compliance with the site safety management system
- Actively contribute to, assist and share knowledge and information with your team aimed at improving safety, work processes, cost and teamwork
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in Surface coal mining operations including operation of heavy mobile equipment
- Effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Extensive experience in mine operations
- Ability to engage with a workforce to achieve a safe and collaborative work environment
