About the Role

This 7/7 roster (days and nights) role is located at Caval Ridge, 12km west of Moranbah supporting FIFO with flights included out of Brisbane or Cairns or DIDO from local areas.

As a crucial part of our mining production team, you will utilise your superior people management, strong decision making skills and extensive mining experience to lead a diverse team at our Caval Ridge Mine. Your main focus will be to provide a safe working environment and support the mine plan through the engagement, and development of others in order to ensure teams are working together to achieve Production goals.

Reporting to the Pre Strip Superintendent, In this role you will:

  • Prioritise safety through active field leadership engagement;

  • Safely execute mine services including the management of people and equipment;

  • Lead, coach and mentor a crew of diverse multi-skilled operators to safely and cost effectively deliver the plan and build a high performance team;

  • Identify improvement opportunities and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure efficiency and production is maximised;

  • Ensure safety, improvements and production are managed appropriately in management systems for reporting and execution purposes.

About You

  • Supervisory experience within a mine Production department is essential;

  • Demonstrate managing multiple conflicting priorities and strong decision-making skills to achieve the best outcome for crews and production in the short and long term;

  • Collaborative relationship building and negotiation skills in order to engage others and work on accountability;

  • Able to use business improvement techniques to pursue better ways of working for the crew and team;

  • Sound computer literacy;

  • Support and grow a culture of diversity within the team;
