About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Production Services, these roles will lead safe field execution of weekly structural cleaning activities within a fixed plant environment across our Nelson Point and Finucane Island operations, integrating with planning and ramp down requirements, assure contractor performance and work quality, and drive cost discipline and operational efficiency across FI and NP. This position will be working on a roster of 8 days on, 6 days off.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide Section 26 supervision to contractor structural cleaning teams, ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in line with BHP standards.
- Work closely with the Ramp Down Coordinator to align weekly cleaning activities with plant ramp down requirements, ensuring optimal sequencing and shutdown readiness.
- Actively manage and adjust daily plans to ensure resources are optimised, eliminating inefficiencies and avoiding over-servicing.
- Continuously review and refine work plans to prioritise critical activities, improving readiness and reducing pressure during shutdown windows.
- Partner with Services Supervisors to ensure integrated planning, allowing services teams to restructure workload and maximise efficiency in the lead-up to shutdowns.
- Maintain strong field presence to verify work quality, ensuring contractors deliver to scope, standard, and expectations.
- Ensure all activities follow quality notification, planning, and work order processes, eliminating informal or uncontrolled work execution
- Challenge scope, labour, and equipment use to ensure only value-adding work is executed, reducing unnecessary cost.
- Track key performance metrics, identify deviations, and apply structured problem-solving to address root causes and implement sustainable improvements.
About You
- Previous leadership experience in mining or a related field
- Statutory Supervisor (S26) required
- Strong work management background with experience in weekly planning and shutdown execution
- Proficient in SAP/FIORI and Microsoft applications (including Microsoft Project)
- Solid understanding of maintenance–production interfaces and ramp down activities
- Ability to balance daily workloads, optimise resources, and solve problems in the field
- Demonstrated application of the BHP Operating System (BOS) and continuous improvement practices
