About the Role

This position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7 day / 7 night rotating 12-hour roster pattern arrangement, with residential, DIDO or FIFO options available.

Reporting to the Superintendent Production Execution - Smelting we currently have an opportunity available for inclusive and supportive leaders to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for the Smelting performance which will include providing a safe working environment, achieving department targets and the leadership and coordination of daily work activities. 

In this role you will:

  • Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing and coaching your team
  • Integrate with Maintenance counterparts to ensure effective, pro-actively planned maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime
  • Review work practices to ensure best practice
  • Actively manage employee performance
  • Promote continuous improvement with the Smelting area

About You

Our successful candidates will:

  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
  • Ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels and disciplines
  • Ability to lead, mentor and coach others
  • Experience within Smelting or minerals processing highly desirable
  • Have the ability to communicate well with all stakeholders
  • Have previous and proven experience as a people leader.
