We are seeking a Project Operations Supervisor to influence and drive positive leadership to our dynamic exploration operation support team, enabling them to meet safe productivity, cost, and quality requirements to achieve targets within our operations.
Leading on the frontline is one of the most important jobs in our business and comes with a huge amount of responsibility. We need you to motivate, inspire and keep your people safe and well. This role requires extensive to travel to remote project locations within the Western Australia and other parts across the AAR.
This role is a great opportunity for someone with proven generalist field experience to play a vital role within the project team. The Project Operations Supervisor must enjoy being part of the exploration team and working in remote locations but must also have a passion for project management and the coordination of logistics and operational requirements.
Reporting to the Regional Superintendent, you will:
- Be an inspiring role model and coach for positive behaviors, practices, and processes, whilst providing leadership, development and support to your team
- Manage the deployment of Field assets, equipment, and other resources to meet project needs.
- Coordinating teams across multiple locations at a given time, managing rosters and team requirements
- Managing project compliance including hygiene, hydrocarbon and hazardous materials etc.
- Planning maintenance programs for field equipment including fleet management
- Support the establishment of Scope of works for external providers of operational support and logistics services.
- Build and maintain relationships with multiple stakeholders to align on operational plans and strategies.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Current C Class driving license.
- Ability to work among challenges of operating in isolated and/or remote, field-based environments
- Ability to assess project needs, coordinate logistics and operational support tasks and prioritize work to achieve project outcomes.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities to deliver solutions.
- The aptitude to work in field and office environments.
- Strong communication and representational skills
- Demonstrated capability of efficiently managing administrative tasks and delivering accurate, timely reports
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Current HR license
- Familiar with classified plant operations safety, especially drill rigs
- Project Planning & logistics experience
- Defensive 4wd driving and towing experience

Where you’ll be working
RTX is a global operation dedicated to discovering new mineral resources to replace and/or supplement those already mined by the Rio Tinto Group. RTX conducts exploration in both greenfield and brownfield environments, either discovering deposits in new geographical locations or growing and sustaining existing operations.
