About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Modifications and Projects, you will be part of the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Engineering team responsible for the governance and delivery of all mobile assets.
As the Supervisor Projects, you will control the delivery of Capex and Opex mobile fleet delivery projects into the BHP Iron Ore operations. This encompasses sustaining capital and growth fleet as well as managing the requests for transportation and hire fleet into the business and improvement projects revolving around mobile equipment.
Additional duties will include:
- Managing the planning, safe execution, and commissioning of approved fleet projects according to agreed scope, budget, schedule, and relevant standards and specifications
- Ensuring compliance of projects to Group / Business / Asset level requirements, statutory legislation, and relevant internal and external standards and specifications
- Validating that material risks for projects are identified and related critical controls are implemented and effective
- Managing the handover to the Operations of fleet and ensure all relevant change control documentation has been updated to as-built status (to ensure an accurate blue print)
- Liaising with other studies and project teams across the Asset to provide expertise in the delivery and reporting of fleet projects
- Verifying relevant 1SAP Master Data changes are initiated and operating procedures are updated where required
- Demonstrating an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
About You
As the successful candidate you will possess the following:
- Engineering or Trade Qualifications
- Experience in supervision of Mobile fleet maintenance and builds, commissioning and decommissioning works
- Capability to negotiate and scrutinise vehicle specifications and cost
- Strong relationships with OEM’s to influence our requirements
- Approach fleet management with a “Project” mentality that ensures all required processes are followed e.g. MOC, Standards, Master Data
- Ability to step back and challenge our current fleet strategy, e.g. Selection of OEM
- Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement
Location
You will be based at our Perth office, on a fly-in fly-out roster to numerous sites across Western Australia.
