Work Location: Hedland Operations Rail - Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 7D7N14R – FIFO ex Perth
Fortescue are seeking a suitably experienced Supervisor Rail Operations located in Port Hedland. This role will be 7D7N14R roster FIFO from Perth.Reporting to the Superintendent of Rail Operations, you will be responsible for meeting customer needs by safely, reliably and efficiently leading our Hedland Operations activities at the Port and our mines. In addition, you will also oversee the operation of the fuel, ballast and work trains as required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Visible and effective safety leadership for all Rail Operation activities between in the Port, the yards and down to the mines
- Effectively support operational strategies for consistent prioritisation and operational decisions between the Port and mines to achieve our railing targets
- Work closely with the Mainline Supervisors, the Hedland Coordinators, and other departments to ensure Fortescue Rail assets are maintained and our Mainline Operations are optimised
- Effective people management including the coaching and development of your team, consistent communication and performance management
- Build constructive, respectful, and positive relationships with members of the Rail Operations team and other departments including RSM and Track Maintenance
- Proactively drive and encourage the continuous improvement of practices in Rail Operations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience in operational leadership (preferred)
- A demonstrated commitment to Safety and Rail Safe Working
- Capable of building effective internal and external relationships
- Excellent problem solving and logistical skills
- Previous experience working effectively with limited supervision
- Ability to pass a Category 2 Safety Critical Worker medical
- Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills
