About The Role
An opportunity has become available for a ROM Supervisor at our Tarrawonga Mine. Reporting to the Superintendent you will supervise the day-to-day operations, ensuring a safe operation through your leadership of the teams. Contribute to the achievement of mine planning production budgets and forecasts whilst complying with statutory laws, policies and procedures.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and direct the mining crews including provision of pre-shift information, shift planning, assigning employees to specific tasks, and monitoring start and finish times of crew
- Provide training, coaching and development to operators, and maintain appropriate training documentation
- Monitor production and coal quality targets and ensure mining work is performed in accordance with mining plans so that coal and overburden targets are met
- Lead continuous improvement activities to increase mining and plant efficiency
- Facilitate and support of LEAN management principles and systems, including the Short Interval Control (SIC)
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and help track expenditure
About You
- Knowledge of the risk management, safe work practices and statutory requirements needed to create and maintain a safe work environment.
- Minimum 3 years mining experience to include supervision of mine planning and scheduling, contract supervision and administration.
- Demonstrated safe and productive management of mine plant and facilities.
- Prior experience with leadership/mentoring highly regarded

- Open Cut Examiners ticket
- RIIRIS301D – Apply Risk Management Processes
- RIIWHS301D – Conduct safety and Health Investigations
- RIICOM301D – Communicate Information
- RIIRIS402D Carry out the risk management process
