About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Health, Safety, Security and Emergency Management (HSSEM), you will be responsible for leading a team of Asset Protection Officers delivering on execution of security activities to ensure the safe achievement of security response for Prominent Hill site, villages and surrounds.

This role is based at Prominent Hill on a 5/2, 4/3 roster basis (with flexibility), FIFO ex-Adelaide.

Your accountabilities will include:

  • Leading a team of Asset Protection Officers through setting and maintaining clear health and safety standards for your team.
  • Leading the execution of requirements outlined in the BHP Prominent Hill Integrated management system (PHIMS), in particular PHIMS Element 18 Security, Crisis and Emergency Management
  • Leading stakeholder engagement in particular Department of Defence, Cooper Pedy SA Police and other government authorities
  • Implementing and maintaining HSSEM and Security policies, systems and processes including BHP Operating system (BOS).
  • Monitoring Security performance, linking performance to HS&SEM strategy and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all Security related incidents.
  • Management of Security work management processes and security controls.
  • Providing subject matter expertise to Leadership on Security related programs/ initiatives to enable compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Build capability through coaching, mentoring and provide Security advice and support to your team.
  • Supporting a continuous improvement culture that delivers team results across health and safety, culture, cost reduction and synergies.

  • High level communication and influencing skills, including the ability to produce quality, concise reports and presentations.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in relation to all security incidents and emergencies including incident, security and medical details.
  • A current Drivers licence (manual is preferable)
