About the Role
We are currently looking for an Electrical Shutdown Supervisor who will provide leadership to a team who will be focused on the safe and quality execution of the shutdown plan and schedule. This is a permanent position on an 8/6 (days only) FIFO roster from Perth. Reporting directly to the Shutdown Superintendent, this role is responsible for supporting the South Flank Shutdown team, ensuring the safe and timely execution of the shutdown management plan. Overseeing and facilitating the execution of all shutdown activities to ensure activities are aligned with Fixed Plant priorities.
In this role, you will lead the effective coordination of tasks during shutdown execution, ensuring the execution of planned and scheduled work by the Electrical Coordinator ensuring work is performed in the safest manner possible in line with BHP Charter Values, BHP Policies/ Procedures, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations. Key responsibilities include:
- During planning phase, develops the optimum shutdown plan and schedule through collaboration with all stakeholders, providing input into scope, interactions, and sequencing of activities and allocation of resources to enable safe and efficient execution
- During the execution phase, coordinates and executes shutdown activities for a designated area of the South Flank Fixed Plant assets. Manages the safe execution of planned and scheduled work by both BHP and contracted employees
- Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes
- Follows the shutdown management framework to achieve required milestones within the current shutdown cycle
Location
The South Flank Mine is an 80Mt expansion of BHP's existing Mining Area C hub, located approximately 130 km by road north-west of the town of Newman, combining to produce up to 145Mt to be the largest standalone iron ore processing centres in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Trade qualified electrician or a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering
- Understanding of Fixed Plant Processing and Maintenance in the mining industry
- A knowledge of maintenance practices
- Ability to Identify and implement safe work practices
- Proven ability to communicate and follow plans clearly and concisely
- Experience with SAP and Asset Management Software will be advantageous
- Experience working in a team that requires collaboration with multiple stakeholders
