We are seeking an engaging, safety focused Electrical Statutory Supervisor to join our team based at Dampier.

This role presents a fantastic opportunity to draw on your leadership skills, coupled with your technical knowledge to provide governance of work to ensure a safe and compliant electrical installation. You will have a strong safety leadership focus to ensure a clear understanding and adherence to requirements. 

This role is a great opportunity to showcase your influencing and stakeholder engagement skills.

Reporting to the Superintendent Electrical Dampier your accountabilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Monitoring schedules and perform first party assurance to ensure the quality of installation and maintenance works onsite are compliant with Electrical and Functional Safety requirement
  • Providing direction and guidance on how to meet Statutory, Australian and Rio Tinto standards
  • Direct management of electrical registers, logbooks, and keys
  • Ensuring training compliance of Rio Tinto electrical workers operating onsite
  • Reviewing and signing off on all electrical statutory works, and approval for contractor intent to work
  • Coordinating and directly managing outsourced compliance activities
  • Project delivery review and acceptance for electrical works

What you will need for this role

  • Electrical Workers License, Endorsed Electrician or Electrical Engineering qualifications acceptable for professional engineer membership of Engineers Australia required
  • Willingness to be endorsed as a site nominee for the RTIO in-house Electrical Workers License
  • Flexibility to work around rostered hours (if required) to fulfill Statutory Obligations
  • Ability to actively develop networks and engage with employees, management, and external customers to provide open and courteous lines of communication
  • Proficient in RTIO work management systems will be favourable but is not essential
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with HSEQ policies, procedures and initiatives (e.g. CRM, FV, VS, C2, D7 or similar)
  • Previous experience in a similar role or as an Electrical Contractor or Nominee would be seen as advantageous but is not essential

Where you’ll be working

The Dampier Ports consists of two shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier which form an essential part of our logistics process. Each terminal has facilities for train unloading, iron ore stockpiling, product blending and ship loading.
