Operations near and far

In the Great Sandy Desert in the East Pilbara region of Western Australia, our Telfer gold-copper mine is our fly-in-fly-out operation, comprising open pits, processing plant and an underground mine. While at site Telfer offers a diverse range of recreational activities including a gym, swimming pool, driving range, movie room and refurbished communal eatery.

Who we’re looking for  

As the Supervisor - Supply at Telfer, you'll play a pivotal role in optimising our supply chain and ensuring the seamless coordination of procurement, production, inventory control, distribution, and transportation. Your mission will be to ensure that all critical processes operate efficiently and meet our organisational goals and performance KPIs while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off, flying on Thursdays.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate Warehouse activities, including developing and maintaining work instructions and procedures
  • Prepare weekly operational plans and ensure site service requirements are met.
  • Monitor inventory storage and compliance with operational, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Manage transport contractors, performance KPI meetings, and daily review of critical item levels.
  • Oversee the transportation of Copper Concentrate to Port Hedland, ensuring shipping targets are met.
  • Liaise with site departments for out-of-scope transport requirements and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Set clear performance expectations and address performance issues.
  • Oversee safe operations within Telfer Warehouse and Supply, adhering to Telfer and Newmont policies and procedures.

About You

The ideal candidate is a forward-looking leader with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for continuous improvement. This candidate will have a Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team, influence others, and drive a collaborative work environment.

Other ideal requirements include:

  • Proficient in SAP warehouse management system.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within mining, minerals processing, oil & gas, or heavy industries.
  •  Intermediate or advanced skills in Microsoft tools.
  •  Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  •  Experience in supply chains, procurement, expediting, and inventory control.
  •  Ability to lead meetings with key stakeholders.
  •  Manual driver’s license (Essential).
  • Certificate III or IV in Transport & Logistics (Warehousing & Storage).
