About the Role
This opportunity is based at our Yandi Mine on a fly-in fly-out 8 day on / 6 days off roster. BHP’s Yandi Mine Site is located approximately 170kms North of Newman West Australia. The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, squash, tennis and basketball courts, golf driving range, mini golf, netted cricket pitch, beach volleyball court and recreation room. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, internet, refrigerator and air-conditioning. The Supervisor Track Maintenance role reports to the Superintendent Track Maintenance and will be responsible for leading of a team of Track Maintenance Technicians, working towards improving and maintaining the reliability and availability of the Rail Network. As a Supervisor, you will have strong leadership skills and have the ability to positively influence our safety culture. Your ability to lead by example, be proactive and prioritise Field Leadership activities will be critical to your success.
In addition, you will play a key role by:
- Having a genuine commitment to safety
- Promote and foster a positive and inclusive team culture
- Mentor and coach Coordinators and Track Maintenance Technicians workgroups in-field concerning risk management and verification of tasks
- Ensure all primary maintenance and breakdown repairs to BHP rail network assets, including but not limited to; turnouts, IRJ’s, frogs and sleepers are completed safely
- Overseeing the safe execution of breakdown repairs and recovery of various rolling stock assets including derailment scenarios
- Working inside the Network Response teams for the safe execution of breakdown repairs across the Coastal portfolio
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects – increasing safety whilst reducing risk & cost
- Ensure maintenance tasks are recorded in SAP, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification
About You
As our successful candidate you will possess the following: * Have demonstrated previous leadership experience in a maintenance environment; * Hold a Certificate II or III Rail Infrastructure or Capable to attain these Certificates * Hold a valid WA C Class Drivers Licence as essential. HR Licence (desirable). * Excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills; * Strong computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft applications and 1SAP; * Experience in assisting with building and implementing maintenance strategies; * Previous experience in working within a Track Maintenance environment (desirable) * Ability to work cooperatively in small team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptation to business requirements * Comfortable with a working remotely arrangement
