About the Role

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Track Maintenance Supervisor, looking to take on a progressive role within our Rail team for our recently formed Yandi Track Maintenance department.  In this role you will supervise and connect with work groups, including their day-to-day running of planned operational and maintenance activities. You will ensure your team meets work schedules and productivity targets, thereby optimising track availability, reliability and safety.  This role will be offered on a 8&6 FIFO basis.

The role requirements are:

  • Supporting an incident/injury free environment, leading by example and coaching the team to meet and exceed HSEC targets including Field Leadership.
  • Collaboratively ensure compliance with the requirements of the Rail Safety Act and track maintenance Code of Practice
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders including Train Control, Rail Operations and Engineering teams regarding railway infrastructure and maintenance activities
  • Committed to participating in the maintenance planning process via regular planning and scheduling meetings
  • Oversee monthly and annual expenditure relating to operational cost and contract equipment under your control
  • Monitor and manage compliance with Rail Safety Management Plan and Hazard Register, as well as hours worked and fatigue management
  • Efficient in completing documentation and reporting in 1SAP, 1SAP Work Management processes related to work identification, execution and the capturing of related historical transactional data into 1SAP
  • Use your interpersonal skills for the day-to-day on-site supervision of employees and contractors to ensure that technical and quality standards are achieved safely
  • Monitoring and reporting on planned site progress and contractor resource capability and capacity
  • Report daily and weekly to Superintendent on maintenance activities, resourcing and improvement projects
  • Committed to holding team members accountable against values and standards, KPIs and development plan actions.

About You

To be successful in this role you’ll possess:  

  • Track maintenance leadership experience
  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in Safety and Quality Leadership
  • Current full West Australian "C" class motor vehicle license or current equivalent Australian State motor vehicle license
  • Hold a Rail infrastructure Cert 2 or Cert 3
  • Demonstrated experience in leading workgroups and contractors
  • Good planning skills and the ability to safely oversee maintenance and breakdown activities with time pressure and productivity in mind
  • The ability to identify improvement opportunities and implement effective and sustainable changes.
