About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team focussed on the training and assessment of operational roles and activities, ensuring safety, productivity and engagement.
Furthermore, your role will include the following:
- Forecast training requirements by using skills matrixes and training needs analysis to create targeted training plans that address operational capability gaps.
- Implement improvements to training scheme based on a review of metrics (e.g. feedback, follow-up reports, compliance to training plan etc.) and implements program modifications to increase the utility/uptake of training sessions.
- Identify and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Identify, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct presentations and facilitates training
- Translate strategic direction into practical plans, budgets and metrics that align and stretch the team to achieve high performance. Adapts plans and team priorities in response to shifting customer needs, seeking input from the team on new risks and opportunities.
- Build and balances the capability composition of the team by coaching, providing on-time feedback and leveraging strengths within the team to build capability in others, enhance team/individual performance and improve uptake on learning opportunities.
About You
The ideal candidate will hold the following experiences and qualifications:
- Proven ability to embed processes that identify waste, remove barriers and standardise new ways of working. Reviews and balances team capacity with demand in line with changing plans.
- Proven ability to operate at multiple levels and across disciplines
- Proven ability to create an open and safe environment for team members collaborate, experiment through safe trial and error, learn from mistakes and successes and raise concerns
- Proven ability to enable success by embedding processes that identify waste, remove barriers and standardise new ways of working. Reviews and balances team capacity with demand in line with changing plans
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment highly desirable
- Exposure or some knowledge of Vocational Education and Training (VET) legislation
