About the Role
The Supervisor Training role has been established within the Operations Services (OS) Technical Capability Team to provide site-based leadership and coordination of the training function. The focus of this role is to ensure training and assessment activities are undertaken in a planned, scheduled, timely and high-quality manner. This site-based role is critical in ensuring our frontline are enabled to execute their role safely and competently. This position is based in Queensland and working a 7 days on 7 days off roster. Key focus areas for this role include preparing for new deployments; implementing standardised training & assessment processes; forward planning/forecasting of training & assessment work; undertaking quality checks of training & assessment work (i.e. validation and moderation); troubleshooting competency queries; facilitating handovers and ensuring continuity of support to deployment line leads.

About You
Your background in either a similar type of position or environment will see you well placed with the required capability to step into this opportunity. Your ability to plan work, coordinate teams and trouble-shoot problems across varied locations is of the upmost importance. Your focus on quality of training/assessment activities and an understanding of how critical training is to safe and efficient operations. It is essential that you are forward thinking, highly collaborative and work with a one-team approach.
It is preferable that you have:
• Current qualification or skill sets in Training & Assessment; • Significant Training & Assessment experience in a similar role within mining or heavy industry; • Experience managing teams and conflicting priorities, including the capacity to balance day to day workloads alongside project work; • Experience planning training & assessment activity across multiple scopes to ensure frontline work-readiness is not compromised; • A continuous improvement focus that identifies opportunities for refining processes at site-level and minimizing pain points for the frontline; • Understanding of legislative requirements that impact OS deployments; • High level interpersonal skills and the ability to build highly effective working relationships across a range of team members, stakeholders and working groups; • Authentically engaging stakeholders to understand & meet their training and competency requirements, as well as troubleshoot any issues that may arise; • Show initiative and work with minimal direction, being resourceful and proactive in your approach; • Willingness to lead and implement change, as well as influence and mentor others in training and safety principles and behaviours.
