About the role

We are looking for a Wagon Maintenance Supervisor to develop and maintain a team of multiskilled maintainers to provide safe and efficient maintenance of our rolling stock fleet, specifically wagons. This is a residential role at 7 Mile on an even time 3 days on, 3 nights on, 6 days off roster.

This role is a great opportunity to join a large-scale operation and oversee a skilled team in the successful delivery of maintenance activities.

Reporting to the Superintendent Wagon Maintenance, you will:

  • Achieve safety and service performance as per targets and facilitate the achievement of direct report’s KPI's
  • Contribute to an inclusive culture striving towards operational excellence.
  • Monitor and measure team performance to ensure that safety, maintenance, and cost targets are met
  • Manage equipment provided to the team in support of their activities and ensure appropriate allocation of resources to achieve planned outcomes
  • Develop, review and update procedures and training documentation for all areas of work
  • Assist the Superintendent Wagon Maintenance in the successful operations and in the application of the Performance Management System
  • Ensure that the budget is managed in accordance with the plan and deliver improvement initiatives

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Sound knowledge of operational and maintenance requirements
  • Relevant trade qualifications
  • Experience in bulk materials handling sector or related industry, particularly related to an operational work environment
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Office, SAP & other information systems (e.g. HOS)
  • Effective planning and time management skills
  • C Class driver's licence
  • Frontline management qualification or similar will be well regarded
  • A can-do growth mindset

Where you will be working

Our privately owned and operated rail network is an essential part of our integrated production process and services our 15 mines across the Pilbara via 1,700km of track. With depots located at Tom Price, Cape Lambert and Dampier (7 Mile), each train is operated by a single driver and comprises up to three locomotives and 240 ore cars stretching to approximately 2.7 kilometres in length with over 40 trains operating per day. We are also applying and adapting technology to improve safety and productivity across our rail network.
