About the Role
The Supervisor, Water Operations will be responsible for overseeing daily operation of Drinking (Potable) Water Treatment, Waste Water Treatment and Surplus Water infrastructure in accordance with BHP policies and procedures. In this role you will be leading the Operations Team within Non Process Infrastructure (NPI) Water Department and ensuring the plants, equipment and utilities under your accountability are operated in line with the relevant Operations Plan and specified standards, and are consistently delivering on their production targets.
This role is being offered on a 7 days on / 7days off fly-in fly-out roster from Perth or residential in Newman. Reporting to the Superintendent, Water Services, Non Process Infrastructure (NPI) your duties will include:
• Demonstrate and instill an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development • Ensure regulatory reporting obligations are met with regard to water extraction, discharge and reinjection • Develop a continuous improvement culture using the BOS principles and ensure all plant and associated equipment performance is optimised • Authorise, prioritise, plan and monitor workflow and work orders via 1SAP • Investigate and report water health incidents • Comply with all WAIO HSEC guidelines, policies, procedures and practices • As a Schedule 26 Statutory Supervisor, you are required to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Mine Safety and Inspection Work Health and Safety Act and Work Health and Safety Regulations • Set and clearly communicate targets and expectations aligned with NPI goals Purpose and BHP values • Lead, coach and mentor employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team • Cultivate positive relationships through effective communication and consultation • Positively influence and shape the culture to ensure a safe, productive, quality, sustainable and disciplined approach to work • Work in accordance with the 1SAP work management processes, to ensure statutory reporting and monitoring is completed as per the pre-defined plan

About You
• Trade or relevant Certificate III / IV in Water Industry Operations or relevant Science or Engineering degree would be a distinct advantage, however training will be provided to the successful candidate • Solid technical and operation experience within water utilities • Experience with water treatment plant processes and treatment technologies • Previous experience supporting/guiding peers and less experienced team members • Well-developed communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills • Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement • A proven track record of safety management • Ability to work closely in a team environment • Valid Australian C class driver’s licence
