The Opportunity - Supply Manager - Worsley Alumina based in Collie, South-West WA - Permanent position

As the site manager for Supply operations and representing Supply on the Worsley Alumina operations leadership team, this role leads a team accountable for warehouse operations, general freight, inventory planning, and category management.

Located in the picturesque south-west and Peel regions of Western Australia, South32 Worsley Alumina is on a journey to become the world’s leading Alumina producer where our 1500 workforce value the lifestyle that Worsley Alumina has to offer.
Our integrated Bauxite Mine, Alumina Refinery and Port Operation is creating the essential products needed for a sustainable low carbon future.

This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.

Location

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. 
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie. 

Accountabilities

Primary responsibilities are to:

 
•    Leadership of the site based supply team, including warehouse operations, general freight,  inventory planning,  and category management;
•    Creates a safe, inclusive and performance focused team culture;
•    Lead, coaches, and mentors team members;
•    Develops and manages the annual sourcing plans to ensure the operation’s needs strategically match with the market;
•    Safe execution of warehouse operations and processes;
•    Performance monitoring and improvement of supply chain targets;
•    Optimising total cost of ownership and supply risk;
•    Monitors expectations, understanding and application of Supply Category Management processes within the team to support compliance with local requirements;
•    Validates that frameworks, policies and practices established for the sub-function are applied;
•    Supports Global Category managers with performance and insights on the management of Supply risk and the relevant mitigating actions; 
•    Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal business leaders to understand business objectives, plans and requirements; 
•    Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure optimum delivery quality and sustained performance in line with business objectives;
•    Manage accountable costs in line with budget. 

About You  
 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Engineering or related disciplines;
•    Extensive experience in a commercial/ Supply environment (Warehouse), Mining & Metals and sourcing and/or Procurement experience will be preferred;
•    Strong experience in developing sourcing plans, sourcing strategy, and leading negotiations;
•    Demonstrated experience in safely leading operational teams, preferably with warehouse experience; 
•    Demonstrates an ability to influence, communicate and engage with internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the business and maintain supplier relationships;
