About The RoleRio Tinto Dampier Salt’s Supply team located in Dampier is looking to recruit an experienced Supply Officer, responsible for completing assigned tasks under supervision while ensuring that warehouse operations run smoothly within the overall site operation. Your duties will include maintaining compliance with Rio Tinto Health Safety Environment standards and site regulations, as well as adhering strictly to operational procedures and processes.

Reporting to the DSL Dampier Supply Supervisor in this role you’ll be responsible for the efficient management of warehouse operations, including the storage, handling, and distribution of goods. Ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked, safely stored, and that goods are received and dispatched in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Repsonsibilities

  • Warehouse Organization & Safety: Maintain cleanliness and order in the warehouse, yards, and shelves; oversee safe unloading and handling of goods, including hazardous materials.

  • Goods Receipt & Verification: Inspect and process received goods, ensuring they match purchase orders and are recorded in SAP and accurately put away; handle supplier queries and urgent requests.

  • Stock & Parts Management: Conduct stock-takes, manage stock variances, issue parts for maintenance, and ensure timely return and processing of repairable items.

  • Returns, Dispatch & Disposal: Ensure returned items are safely packed and dispatched; manage material disposal according to safety standards.

  • Problem-Solving & Communication: Address customer queries in a professional manner, coordinate with the inventory controller, and maintain effective communication with suppliers and internal teams.

What You’ll Bring

  • Transportation & Logistics: Possess relevant skills or licenses in transportation or logistics, along with the ability to operate stackers or forklifts.

  • Safety and compliance: A strong commitment to safety and compliance with regulations is essential, as well as a demonstrated willingness to work within established procedures and guidelines.

  • Warehouse & Inventory Management: Previous experience in warehouse operations, stock control, and stocktaking.  Experience operating warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts)  

  • Supply Chain or Logistics Experience: Background in supply chain, procurement, or logistics roles.

  • Hazardous Material Handling: Knowledge of safety regulations and hazardous material management.  

  • Mining, Manufacturing or Industrial Sector: Experience in sectors where warehouse operations are critical.
