About the Role

Reporting to the Surface & Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team of maintenance personnel including engineers, planners, and trades to safely deliver asset maintenance across the surface infrastructure of Appin mine.

This is a key leadership role, to develop and deliver the forward maintenance schedule and asset management requirements through collaboration with all departments of the mine whilst also responding effectively to breakdowns, events, and changes in priorities.

You will foster a continuous improvement team environment and provide governance, guidance and control of the budgets, standards, specifications, procedures, programs, maintenance plans and drawings for your areas of responsibility.

This is a permanent full-time position and a fantastic opportunity to join the team at Appin Mine.

About You

You will naturally have a passion and commitment to workplace safety and continual improvement. Previous leadership experience and the drive to succeed and develop yourself is fundamental to your success. In addition, you should possess:

  • Relevant Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualifications
  • Frontline management experience
  • Significant experience working in a maintenance role within heavy industry
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of surface infrastructure assets such as winders, ventilation fans, gas extraction, water treatment, high voltage assets and building services
  • Demonstrated ability to select, develop, coach and mentor employees resulting in improved engagement, diversity, and organisational capability

Location

This position will be based at Appin Mine which is in the southern coalfields of New South Wales, near the coastal city of Wollongong, approximately 75 kilometres south and southwest of Sydney.
