We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Surveyor to join our Mount Colin mine site. Mount Colin operation is an underground copper / gold mine located halfway between Mount Isa and Cloncurry in North West Queensland. The mine is under a contract mining model, with a site technical team overseeing the operation.
Reporting to the General Manager and working as part of the mining team, you will be responsible for carrying out all operational survey requirements.
The Role
- Carry out all operational survey requirements in a timely manner
- Carry out end of month reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate survey plans of the mine
- Maintain and improve survey database and procedures
- Perform UAV flights for surface surveys
- Promote HSEC values and a strong safety culture on site
The Ideal Candidate Will Be Able to Demonstrate
- Tertiary Qualification in Surveying
- Registered with the Surveyors Board of Queensland
- At least 2 years surveying experience in underground mining
- Strong working knowledge of Leica Total Stations and Optech CMS
- Proficient user of Deswik mining software
- Ability to work autonomously
- UAV pilot’s license highly regarded
