About Nickel West
Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business. Our culture is rich with technical know-how, highly efficient and focused on innovation. The business employs over 2500 people from five operations across Western Australia comprising of nickel underground and open-cut mines, concentrators, a smelter and a refinery. We also have plans to expand our operations with new mines in the northern Goldfields and a large nickel sulphate plant in Kwinana.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit team who support each other and are willing to share their knowledge to develop the successful candidate in this role.
You’ll also be involved in:
- Maintaining accurate survey records, databases, and control network
- Survey control of horizontal and vertical development
- Laser install and heading Pickups
- Setout of rings, ground
- support, diamond drilling and raise bores
- CMS and UAV Scans of stopes and other voids
- QAQC of mining development
- EOM surveys and calculations
- Maintain mine plans to meet Mine Department requirements
- Regular maintenance and calibration of Surveying Equipment
- Ensuring the survey control network is maintained and progressed
About You
As the ideal candidate you will have:
- Tertiary Qualification – Degree or Advanced Diploma in Surveying
- 1+ years underground mine surveying experience (Desirable)
- Competent in the use of mine surveying applications such as Deswik, Leica total stations, Optech CMS and Leica GPS is highly regarded
- Possession of RePL and experience in operating surface and underground drones (Desirable)
- Strong computer literacy skills and excellent communication skills with all levels of operation
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Mines Regulations, OH&S and Duty of Care
- Proactive and self-motivated attitude
- Current "C" class manual drivers licence
- A strong commitment to contribute to the site safety culture
