About the role 

We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner to play a meaningful role in ensuring Rio Tinto has the right people in the right roles at the right time, while delivering an exceptional candidate and hiring leader experience. 

Partnering closely with leaders and HR business partners across the People (HR) function, you will provide end‑to‑end recruitment delivery, building credibility through strategic talent advisory for professional roles. This role blends hands‑on hiring with proactive sourcing, market insight development and coaching, contributing to both immediate hiring outcomes and longer‑term workforce planning.

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Team Lead within the global Talent Acquisition team, you will be: 

  • Delivering end‑to‑end recruitment, owning the candidate experience from initial engagement through to offer acceptance 

  • Partnering with leaders to conduct a hiring needs analysis, understanding capability gaps and market context 

  • Managing recruitment processes to achieve quality hiring outcomes within agreed timeframes 

  • Screening, assessing and shortlisting candidates aligned to role requirements and business needs 

  • Providing talent advisory through market insights, talent availability and salary guidance 

  • Proactively sourcing, engaging and building talent pipelines for critical and recurring roles 

  • Managing recruitment agencies where required, including briefing, performance and cost control 

  • Coaching hiring leaders on effective hiring and selection practices, maintaining accurate hiring data, and contributing to workforce planning and TA projects & initiatives 

  • Contributing to how we showcase Rio Tinto’s employer brand 

While this role is part of Rio Tinto’s global Talent Acquisition team, the recruitment focus will be predominantly Asia-Pacific based. You will also support selected recruitment activity across Rio Tinto’s global hubs, partnering with leaders and TA colleagues internationally. 

About you 

You are a proactive and commercially minded TA professional who enjoys partnering with leaders and delivering high‑quality outcomes. You bring a balance of operational recruitment expertise and trusted advisory capability including: 

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team 

  • Proven experience delivering end‑to‑end recruitment across professional or corporate portfolios 

  • Strong ability to partner with leaders, translating hiring needs into effective recruitment strategies 

  • Experience in proactive sourcing, pipelining and market mapping 

  • Confidence providing market insight, salary guidance and talent advice 

  • A strong focus on candidate experience and inclusive hiring practices 

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills 

  • Comfort working with recruitment data, systems and reporting 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering within agreed timeframes 

  • A collaborative, solutions‑focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
