Brookfield Place is home to BHP Iron Ore’s state-of-the-art Integrated Production and Remote Operations team (IPRO) at Iron Ore.  Our Control Centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using advanced, real-time technology to enable visibility and control, across the entire Iron Ore supply chain.

About the Role

As a Controller you will be responsible for working with our site operation teams and ensuring the effective execution of the daily plan whilst aligning with the Charter Values.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Controlling a Fleet Management system for operations. You will constantly interact with our onsite teams and with other controllers to provide stable control to our operations; 
  • Managing and optimising mining fleets whilst maintaining an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development. Responsible for day to day delivery of production targets for our asset operations;
  • Developing effective and positive relationships with site and within your team with a focus on continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to showcase innovative ideas whilst fostering a culture of best practice amongst your team and the business.

About You

You will be a motivated individual who can use their relationship building and negotiation skills in order to influence others and achieve desired outcomes. You will have a proven track record of applying work processes in a disciplined way to deliver results and respond to changes accordingly.  You will exhibit strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems. You are able to work in high pressure environments with tight deadlines.

You have a proven track record as a Controller in a mining/heavy industry related field. You have a strong background on one of the following:

  • Fleet Management Systems (Modular, MineStar or similar)
  • Process Control System (Citec, Bulk Metrix)

You have the capacity and ability to work rostered work patterns, and travel to site if necessary.
