FFI Tax Manager
Work Location: Perth. FFI’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people
Roster: Monday to Friday
In this role you will report to the GM Finance and Tax at Fortescue, with a dotted reporting line to the CFO at FFI. You will support FFI’s tax compliance activities and the broader tax function, with regard to both FFI’s Australian and International operations.
Key accountabilities will include:
- Review of Australian income tax and indirect tax implications of FFI’s Australian projects.
- Review of the Australian income tax implications of FFI’s international projects.
- Ensure compliance with international tax obligations, including review of relevant filings and returns.
- Provide advice pertaining to international structuring, tax planning and other tax advice to the broader Fortescue team.
- Ability to interpret complex tax advice and its application to FFI’s international transactions and contracts.
- Understanding of global transfer pricing obligations. Working with the broader Finance and Legal teams on intercompany transactions and settlements to ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies.
- Create collaborative working relationships with relevant internal and external parties to manage tax inquires.
- Ensure the proper application of Fortescue’s Tax Risk Management framework, including the development and implementation of appropriate tax policies and procedures for FFI, with a particular focus on global governance.
Qualifications and skills required:
- 7-10 years' in a similar corporate or advisory role, ideally with recent experience gained at a multi-national organisation with global operations
- Undergraduate degree with a major in Finance, Tax, Accounting and/or Law
- Post graduate qualification (CPA, CA and/or Master of Taxation)
- Strong Australian income tax knowledge
- Working knowledge of multiple international tax areas, including but not limited to compliance, transfer pricing and advisory
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines
