Macmahon is a diversified contractor with leading capabilities in surface and underground mining, civil construction and resources engineering. Our end-to-end mining services encompass mine development and materials delivery, engineering, civil construction, on-site mining services, rehabilitation and site remediation. Macmahon is currently seeking an experienced Recruitment Team Lead to support and manage a team of eleven recruiters within the WA and QLD offices. Reporting directly to the Recruitment Manager, you will be accountable for leading and supporting the recruitment team and overseeing all aspects of the recruitment process to ensure the successful placement of qualified candidates within the Macmahon business.

Key Responsibilities:


•    Provide guidance, management support and mentorship to an established recruitment team.
•    Set performance goals and targets for the team, carryout out one on one meetings to review and provide feedback on performance and outcomes.
•    Run morning meetings with the team to foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
•    Provide reporting to the recruitment manager, including workflow and pipeline data, audit and compliance analysis and continuous improvement strategies. 
•    Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent.
•    Collaborate with hiring managers and stakeholders to understand workforce requirements and align recruitment efforts and WFP timelines accordingly.
•    Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and innovative recruitment techniques to enhance the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
•    Attend weekly team meetings with site manager to review information and report on progress.
•    Occasional site travel to build stakeholder relationships, engage in WFP initiatives and proactively review challenges to develop recruitment solutions. 
•    Oversee the utilisation of various sourcing channels and networking to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates, provide talent acquisition data to the recruitment manager.
•    Drive the screening, evaluation and assessment of candidates joining the business to ensure the recruiters are correctly assessing qualifications, skills, and cultural fit for Macmahon.
•    Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and timelines, promoting the organisation as an employer of choice, and driving diversity.
•    Enhance the candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, ensuring clear and timely communication, and providing a positive impression of the organisation.
•    Monitor and analyse recruitment metrics, such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and source of hire, to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and make data-driven improvements.
•    Prepare regular reports on recruitment activities, presenting key findings, trends, and recommendations to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience:


•    Proven strong leadership and team management skills, with the capability to motivate and develop a high-performing team, preferred experience in mining or heavy industry sector.
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with in-depth knowledge of recruitment strategies, best practices, and relevant employment legislation.
•    Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to effectively engage with candidates, hiring managers, and stakeholders at all levels.
•    Proficient in using applicant tracking systems, recruitment software, and other relevant HR tools.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyse data, identify trends, and propose effective solutions.
