ABOUT IMC

Illawarra Metallurgical Coal produces premium-quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a permanent full-time position based at the West Cliff Coal Preparation Plant, Appin which is near the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant to meet production and quality targets through leadership of the production team. You will also lead the emergency response team for the site.

You will provide relief cover across site which will include working day and night shift.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Safety leadership through compliance to the site health and safety management system
• Optimise operation of the coal preparation plant to achieve or exceed daily quality and production targets
• Area owner responsible for managing work interactions, isolations and authorising permits for site personnel and contractors
• Respond to plant and site-wide breakdowns to minimise delays by organising and supervising repairs in line with company policies and procedures

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Experience working in a similar role, ideally at a Coal Preparation Plant or similar
• Contractor management experience
• Demonstrated ability to contribute, influence and make decisions within multi-functional teams
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor employees resulting in improved engagement, diversity and organisational capability
• Demonstrated experience using work management systems (SAP) is desirable

Qualifications for this position are:

• Trade Certificate, Associate Diploma or Degree in a relevant Mechanical or Electrical field preferred but not essential
