We are looking for a Team Leader to join the Warehouse team at Rio Tinto Yarwun.
This is a great opportunity for a candidate who has strong logistics experience and looking to step up in their career.

Reporting to the Superintendent Warehouse and working in a diverse team within the Warehouse, you will be:
- Provide a Safe, Clean and Caring environment for the Team Members of the Rio Tinto Yarwun Warehouse.
- Lead a team of Warehouse Officers towards achieving an interdependent safety culture utilizing daily shift starts, safety interactions and critical risk management tools.
- Maintaining a strong level of control over the stock count and accuracy of all documentation. This involves full adherence to internal controls and procedures.
- Continually improving the safety culture of the Team by developing safety awareness and associated practices.
- Task assigning and monitoring Team members to ensure outcomes are achieved to the right quality standard and to appropriate safety standards.
- Developing a strong constructive relationship with production peers.
- Recognising and facilitating Team training and development requirements.
- Conducting work performance reviews.
- Actively seeking and supporting continuous improvement.
What you will bring
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- A Valid C Class or above Drivers license.
- Very high proficiency in SAP systems.
- Commitment to working within Rio Tinto Yarwun safety systems.
- Ability to develop, motivate and lead a team.
- A passion for the Lean tools and Waste elimination.
- A strong ability to conduct effective safety interactions and tool-box discussions.
- The ability to establish and maintain strong role relationships with other team members, peers and customers.
- Effective application of team leadership and membership skills.

Where you’ll be working
Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10km north-west of Gladstone, Yarwun alumina refinery commenced operations in 2004. Processing bauxite from our mines in Weipa and Gove, Yarwun produces more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually.
As one of the largest industries in the Gladstone region, Yarwun employs over 700 people and has a large contractor workforce.
With a focus on safely improving our process every day, the team at Yarwun challenge themselves to use existing and emerging technology to support our 24 hour operation.
