We are seeking a Mechanical Technical Officer to support the Amrun Plant Maintenance team, driving improvements in safety, reliability, and maintenance effectiveness across site operations.

Working closely with tradespeople, planners, schedulers, and engineers, you will play a key role in enhancing mechanical asset performance, supporting breakdown investigations, and delivering practical improvements to plant and equipment.

This is a hands-on, collaborative role requiring strong stakeholder engagement and a continuous improvement mindset.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical technical support to maintenance teams including Fitters and Boilermakers
  • Review and optimise mechanical maintenance strategies, systems, and practices
  • Participate in breakdown investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Identify and deliver safe, practical improvements and upgrades to plant assets
  • Support planners and schedulers to ensure accurate scopes of work and achievable timelines
  • Manage contractors and support teams during shutdowns and project activities
  • Step into the Maintenance Supervisor role as required

About you

You are a proactive and solutions-focused mechanical professional with a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement. You bring the ability to work collaboratively across teams while influencing positive outcomes.

You will also have:

  • Relevant mechanical trade or technical qualification
  • Experience in plant maintenance within heavy industry, mining, or processing environments
  • Strong problem-solving capability and experience in root cause analysis
  • Ability to engage effectively with trades, supervisors, and engineers
  • A focus on delivering safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance outcomes
