About the Role
This role is responsible for supporting the Senior Area Coordinator – South Yard Mechanical and Nelson Point Maintenance Teams. Your area of responsibility covers all Nelson Point South Yard Machines including Car Dumpers, Stackers, Conveyors and all equipment that falls within the ownership model. We are the first point of contact for South Yard mechanical plant and equipment performance both short and long term, maintenance execution reviews, shutdown interactions and continuous improvement work.
We provide ownership and direction over plant, safety, reliability and performance by ensuring maintenance systems are robust and execution of those plans is of high quality. Interactions with process control, technical officers, planning, reliability, engineering and projects are critical to achieve this. Focus on upcoming maintenance schedules, maintenance windows and shutdowns to ensure the right work is carried out safely at the right time.

Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Taking responsibility for identifying and resolving problems, and for assessing the potential impact on production, plant and equipment
- Investigating all delays and alarms and where required scope and raise notifications to have rectified
- Leading and coaching team members in the active pursuit and achievement of maintenance excellence
- Ensuring operational discipline in 1SAP Work Management practices. Assist in delivering planned maintenance to drive a safe and reliable plant
- Liaise with OEM and other vendors to source information and components as required
- Initiating and / or participating in continuous improvement projects
- Perform quality execution reviews
- Proactively assist in equipment failure investigations
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Australian recognized Mechanical trade certificate
- Minimum C Class manual drivers licence
- Technical knowledge of fixed plant equipment
- Proven ability to communicate plans clearly and concisely
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in organising and coordinating plant maintenance , projects and shutdowns
- Working knowledge of project management principles
- Ability to coach and guide teams through positive operational improvements
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft office suite incl excel, word etc
- Maintain and fault find hydraulic systems
- Coach maintenance teams on best practice maintenance activities
Location
In this residential role you will be based in the coastal town of Port Hedland, Western Australia. Port Hedland is home to our port and rail operations and is the largest regional centre in North West Australia. The 20,000-strong population enjoys well-established education services, entertainment, shopping and medical facilities.
The excellent sporting and leisure facilities include; a new aquatic centre, sports stadium and water play park. Its beaches and mangroves are home to an abundance of fish and other wildlife. Within driving distance are the spectacular Broome, Karratha and Karijini national Park. As this is a residential position you will also be provided with subsidised rental accommodation in addition to power and water subsidies.
