The Role
We are currently seeking a Technical Services Superintendent to manage our multi-skilled technical services team to exceed production targets and ensure safety underground.
A strong background in operational excellence, executing innovative technology solutions and continually improving operational performance is imperative.
It is essential you bring extensive technical experience from a similar role within underground hard rock mining. You will be a strong leader with the ability to mentor and coach at all levels. The successful candidate will be driven by a challenge, collaborative and inclusive to allow them to leverage the departments skillset to achieve excellent results and ongoing improvement.
Reporting to the Mining Manager your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Coordinating and managing all aspects of technical services support onsite to provide clear direction to both mine operations and commercial functions.
- Oversee medium and long-term planning and scheduling for both operating mines including Life of Mine and statutory mineral reserve reporting.
- Reviewing mine plans and designs.
- Leading implementation of mining related improvement projects.
- Managing performance of the technical team
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing technical standards and procedures.
- Complying with safety policies and procedures.
- Conducting workplace inspections.
- Conducting cost reviews and making recommendations.
- Communicating with the workforce regarding compliance to plans and production targets and communicating variances to those targets.
- Liaising with other departments to minimise down-time and ensure safe production.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in mining, principally working in an underground hard rock environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Deswik
- Ability to work to tight timeframes and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of technical professionals.
- A NSW First Class Mine Manager Certificate of Competency, or the ability to obtain one, will be highly regarded
The Operation
Tritton Copper Operations employs more than 400 people and is located in Hermidale, in Central New South Wales. Tritton has two underground copper mines (Tritton and Murrawombie) and is forecast to produce 20,000 tonnes copper metal in FY2022.
