Operations near and far
Our Cadia site is located in the Central West of New South Wales, approximately 25 kms outside the vibrant regional town of Orange and three hours’ drive from Sydney. Employees reside in the varied accommodation options in Orange, with the surrounding winery and national park areas to enjoy.
Employees have access to the area’s wide range of amenities, including a prominent health sector, excellent educational facilities, shopping, transport and other services such as childcare.
Who we’re looking for
Cadia Valley Operations has an opportunity available for an enthusiastic person to fill the role of Technical Writer – L&D Support. Reporting to the Superintendent – Training & Systems, you will manage the delivery of high-quality training documentation for Cadia. This includes effective QA/QC reviews of documentation, ensuring correct ownership of all documents, using assurance processes to ensure Safety Management System changes are updated and conducting document control role in the CDMS for training documentation.
A few key deliverables include, but not limited to:
- Review, refine and develop effective training documents for all existing and new equipment or processes, which will improve the safety and efficiency in executing tasks.
- Ensure all documentation developed accommodates all requirements of the activity by engaging with the relevant personnel.
- Proactively participate in the onboarding process for new equipment to site to ensure that all information is documented in the training documents including photos.
- Administer the CDMS system for all training documentation including QA process for approvals.
- Provide technical input into the planning, scheduling, execution and of documentation development and updates.
To be considered, applicants will ideally need the following skills:
- Certificate IV WHS (desirable)
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Experience in technical writing and document management
- Relevant work experience in large-scale mining/mineral processing
- Skills and experience in MS Office suite (Word, Excel), Visio and Acrobat
- Able to interpret OEM manuals and standards
As our preferred candidate, you are highly organised, have great attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This is an opportunity for someone who is highly proficient in administrative work, with sound planning, analytics and problem-solving. You will also be flexible and have a willingness to learn and grow in the space with the ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.
Please note: This is a permanent fulltime role based in Orange, NSW. You will be required to work a 5D/2X roster.
