About the role
Our Technician Asset Health team monitor the performance of components of heavy mobile equipment (HME) to proactively prevent component failures and improve the safety of our operations
What you will be doing:
This role involves applying your HME knowledge to support the Brisbane OC. You’ll need to work independently, solve problems, and contribute to both short- and long-term improvement tasks.
You’ll be on a shift roster in Brisbane CBD, reporting to the Supervisor – Asset Health. Responsibilities include:
- Responding to alarms and escalating issues, working with mine controllers in Brisbane and site teams in Weipa and Gove
- Using monitoring, sampling, and testing methods to collect asset health data and act on it
- Preparing asset condition and performance data to support maintenance decisions
- Working with operational leaders to address out-of-plan issues
- Ensuring downtime data is accurate in collaboration with site teams
- Coaching operators to improve practices
- Keeping a detailed shift log
- Attending daily pre-shift and site cadence meetings
- Visiting site operations as needed for familiarisation and stakeholder engagement
What you will need:
We’re hiring an Technician Asset Health, to monitor HME component performance. This role requires hands-on experience, technical qualifications, and the ability to apply practical knowledge.
Requirements:
- Most hold a trade qualification as a heavy diesel mechanic or auto electrician with 5+ years’ experience
- Experience as a breakdown fitter or in field maintenance on heavy mobile equipment (HME)
- Ability to interpret data and identify defects within set parameters
- Basic understanding of asset management and maintenance programs
- Able to follow standard work routines
- Willing to support and guide less experienced team members
- Comfortable working in a team
- Strong computer skills and clear verbal communication
- Able to manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Interest in process improvement and data-based decisions
- Must live within 45 minutes of Brisbane CBD (travel time is part of fatigue risk assessment)
Preferred:
- Familiarity with CAT equipment or CAT trained
- Experience with SAP, Readyline, Tyre Sense or Grafana
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Familiarity with control room operations
- Experience in mining, logistics, or remote operations
- Comfortable with day and night shift work
Where you will be working
The Operations Centre is located in Brisbane CBD and established to support our Pacific Operations and plays a pivotal role in the future success of our Pacific Aluminium business. The team is responsible for driving the optimisation of the overall supply chain value using state-of-the-art monitoring processes and data driven decision making.
