About the Role
Yandi Mine is one of the 5 Western Australian Iron Ore Mines. Yandi is located 178 kilometres north-west of Newman in the Pilbara region of Western Australia on the traditional lands of the Banjima people. In 2017, Yandi became the second WA-based iron ore mine to achieve a billion tonnes of ore produced in its lifetime.
This is a rare part-time opportunity for an experienced auto electrician to job share with a team member in a 50% capacity! The job share arrangement, part-time roster is 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 35 days off.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor some of your responsibilities may include:
- Preventative maintenance, repair and fault finding to al fleet of various sized variety of plant and equipment
- Following specific maintenance programs and carrying out inspections on Ancillary equipment as required
- Identifying and reifying faults during inspections
- Execute work orders as per schedule and to a high standard
- Scoping Creating 1SAP notications for preventative work
- Completing inspections and repairs as per the maintenance strategies
- Identifying and rectifying faults during inspections
- Creating 1SAP notifications for repair on fleet
- Assisting in implementation of 5S, Safety improvement projects and standardized work
- Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability
- Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with rescheduling of work, organising and coordinating resources, scoping of work and determining priorities
- Take personal responsibility for helping the team achieve expected results by doing what is required and taking timely actions
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and assist in the implementing of the new initiatives in a constructive way
- Executing tasks to a high standard and in a timely matter
We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated understanding of diagnostics, repairs and servicing of heavy plant and equipment, however should you not present with a mining background; Transferrable experience in similar industries with demonstrated experience in the repair and maintenance of heavy plant &equipment will be considered, so we encourage you to apply. Earthmoving & Heavy Vehicle naturally transfer well.
About You
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Australian Recognised Automotive Electrician Trade Qualification
- Strong auto electrical maintenance competency with sound diagnostics skills
- Current Australian C class drivers licence (HR licence is desirable)
- Computer Literacy (SAP advantageous)
- Ability to work closely in a team environment
- Ability to work off schematic drawings
- Exposure to FIFO or shift work
- Prior exposure to earthmoving and heavy plant & machinery diagnostics, repair and maintenance highly advantageous
Location
You will be based at our 'Yandi' mine on a fly-in fly-out 8:6 / 7:7 roster. Yandi is located approximately 170kms North of Newman West Australia.
The outstanding facilities at the FIFO village include; a fully equipped gym, swimming pool, squash, tennis and basketball courts, golf driving range, mini golf, netted cricket pitch, beach volleyball court and recreation room. All rooms at the village have their own ensuite bathroom, television, internet, refrigerator and air-conditioning.
Flights are available from Perth and now Busselton!
