About the Role

We’re looking for a Condition Monitoring Technician to join our close-knit, supportive and results-driven team.  This is a flexible roster FIFO role, typical roster is 14 days 7 days off roster from Perth. You’ll be making valued contributions towards the safe execution of maintenance, and ensuring we deliver best in class fixed plant reliability and availability. More importantly, this is an opportunity for you to undertake activities that create maximum operational and commercial value for our mining operations.

Working closely with multiple stakeholders (including senior leadership), you’ll gain exposure across electrical, mechanical, processing, engineering, maintenance and work management functions. You will be a key contributor to the innovation that is continually transforming the way we work at BHP.   Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance (FPM) Condition Monitoring Supervisor, other key focus areas will include:   •    Manage, implement and improve vibration, lubrication and thermography based predictive maintenance programs – including on-site data collection, analysis and determination of recommendations for rotating equipment. •    Assist with RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) and FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) •    Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, availability and performance •    Provide support, mentoring and technical reviews for team members in predictive and preventive maintenance practices •    Execute maintenance strategies and programs, seeking opportunities for improvement by using the latest in data analytics techniques •    Assist with investigations, providing technical input for equipment failures and troubleshooting projects. •    Carry out sensor installation and conveyor belt thickness testing

About You

You will have:

  • Australian recognized trade certification or engineering degree would be ideal, with a minimum VCAT1 certification and a VCAT 2 will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience of managing and implementing predictive maintenance strategies including Vibration Analysis and Lubrication (highly regarded)
  • Recent industry experience in the Mining, Utilities or Oil & Gas Sectors
  • Good working knowledge with a wide range of rotating and reciprocating equipment
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems such as SAP (preferred), Maximo, JDE
  • Worked autonomously with demonstrated ability to proactively drive improvements
