About the Role
In this role you’ll be making valued contributions towards the safe execution of maintenance, and ensuring we deliver best in class fixed plant reliability and availability. This is an opportunity for you to undertake activities that create maximum operational and commercial value for our mining operations.
Working closely with multiple stakeholders (including senior leadership), you’ll gain exposure across electrical, mechanical, processing, engineering, maintenance, and work management functions. You will be a key contributor to the innovation that is continually transforming the way we work at BHP. This role will be based at Jimblebar on a 8/6 Day shift roster FIFO role from Perth.
Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance (FPM) Condition Monitoring Supervisor, other key focus areas will include:
- Manage, implement, and improve vibration, lubrication and thermography based predictive maintenance programs – including on-site data collection, analysis, and determination of recommendations for rotating equipment.
- Assist with RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) and FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis).
- Identify opportunities to improve plant reliability, availability, and performance.
- Provide support, mentoring and technical reviews for team members in predictive and preventive maintenance practices.
- Execute maintenance strategies and programs, seeking opportunities for improvement by using the latest in data analytics techniques.
- Assist with investigations, providing technical input for equipment failures and troubleshooting projects.
- Carry out sensor installation, conveyor belt thickness testing and other NDT duties.
- Primary predictive maintenance inspections using vibration monitoring equipment, infra-red temperature monitoring devices, oil analysis and visual inspection.
- Condition monitoring data collection, preparation, analysis, and interpretation including tracking, trending, report preparation and maintenance repair recommendations.
- Condition monitoring duties will be in all areas of fixed plant including crushing, ore conveying systems, screening, and train loading.
About You
You will have demonstrated technical knowledge of fixed plant equipment vibration, lubrication, thermography, and wear analysis using predictive maintenance strategies. You’ll also be invited to freely share your opinions in the support of innovation and shape the future direction of our maintenance strategies.
You will have:
- Australian recognized trade certification would be ideal;
- Significant experience in the maintenance and/or monitoring of fixed plant (preferred in the mining / minerals processing sector);
- Demonstrated hands-on experience of managing and implementing predictive maintenance strategies including;
- Vibration Analysis
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, CMMS Systems, SAP/Fiori, MHM Databases and Oil Analysis Databases and PDS Database;
- Qualifications and certification to the relevant ISO standards in oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, NDT and thermography preferred;
- Current full “C” class motor vehicle license;
- Work autonomously with demonstrated ability to proactively drive improvements.
