ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 42 hours per week on a rotating day/night shift roster. Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night. 

Candidates should ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie as there is no accommodation on site.

The purpose of this role is to join our Electrical Maintenance team as an Electrical Instrumentation Technician. Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will safely maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and instrumentation equipment across various areas of the Refinery and Port operations, ensuring reliable plant performance and safe operations.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Respond to breakdown situations in a safe and timely manner to ensure the efficient return of plant equipment to minimise production losses.
  • Diagnosis, repair & testing of Temperature, Pressure, Flow & Density measurement instrumentation.
  • Maintenance and repair of 3.3kV and 415V switchgear, VSDs, motors, cabling and motor control centres & Isolation of LV & HV circuits for safe access to electrical apparatus.
  • Utilisation of Work Instruction documents to complete scheduled / unscheduled work in a timely manner and to a high-quality tradesperson standard.

ABOUT YOU

  • Electrical Trade certified with unrestricted electrical license.
  • High level of safety awareness and risk mitigation.
  • Certificate IV in Instrumentation, with practical experience maintaining instrumentation.
  • Well-developed understanding of the operation and maintenance of large-scale refinery equipment.
  • Experience working with electro pneumatic control valves and positioners, variable speed drives, PLC and DCS systems.
  • Experience maintaining and fault-finding motor control circuits.
  • Experience working a rotating shift pattern.

Desirable:

  • High Voltage Switching Ticket 
  • Cert IV in Hazardous Areas
  • High Risk Work License - Elevated Work Platform, Forklift
