About the Role
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Fire Technician to be part of the Jimblebar Fixed Plant Maintenance Execution team. This is a permanent role, FIFO from Perth on an 8 days on, 6 days off day shift only roster.
Responsibilities include:
- Preserve a high level working knowledge of BHP safety processes and procedure
- Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
- Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment
You will be based at our Jimblebar mine site in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, on a fly-in fly-out 8/6 Day shift only roster. Our FIFO villages have a wide range of facilities and all rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, television, refrigerator and air-conditioning to help you unwind, relax and sleep well. We know the more time you can spend at home the better, so in addition to our flights out of Perth, our Jimblebar and Newman operations are now offering those that live in WA’s beautiful South West region direct flights from Busselton.
About You
The successful candidate will hold the following:
- Cert III Fire Protection
- Have FPAS ( FPA Fire Protection accreditation scheme) accreditations for Sprinkler systems, Extinguishers, Hydrants, Hose reels and Gaseous Fire systems
- EAHL (extinguishing Agent handlers license) endorsement 3
- Cert II or above in Asset maintenance (Fire Protection systems)
- Current C class Drivers licence
- HIAB, EWP, Forklift, Dogging and Rigging Certificates (Desirable)
- Fire pump and extinguisher servicing and gas systems testing experience
- The ability to work methodically and remain calm and focused in a busy and dynamic work environment
- Demonstrate Strong problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
