About the role  

We are looking for a Technician Lubrication to support the safe and efficient maintenance of fixed plant assets through the delivery of quality lubrication services and asset health inspections.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated and safety-focused individual to build their career within asset health and maintenance while gaining exposure to fixed plant operations. This role is offered on a residential 4/2/4/4 roster working days and nights at Cape Lambert.

Reporting to the Supervisor Asset Health, and working in a close-knit and collaborative team within the Asset Health team, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out lubrication services on fixed plant equipment in line with maintenance schedules

  • Completing routine inspections and preventative maintenance tasks to ensure asset reliability

  • Collecting and monitoring oil and grease samples for analysis

  • Maintaining accurate work records and updating tasks within SAP

  • Identifying defects and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

  • Working safely in line with Rio Tinto standards, procedures and safety leadership expectations

About you 

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team

  • Experience in a labouring, trade assistant, maintenance or similar hands-on role (preferred)

  • Mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn lubrication and asset health practices

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks accurately and reliably

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, with clear communication to support safe and efficient operations

  • A positive attitude with flexibility, initiative and willingness to learn in a dynamic work environment

  • Respect for others and an all-inclusive mindset

  • A full manual C Class driver’s licence

Where you’ll be working  

Our integrated operations, which include port facilities, ensure we can supply the right quality product to our customers, when they need it. We blend our products at our own ports, which allows us to produce a reliable and consistent product. And because we have dedicated shipping operations, we are able to better control the delivery of product to our customers.  

We operate 4 independent shipping terminals at 2 locations, Cape Lambert and Dampier, managed as a single port system.  

Cape Lambert has two terminals, Cape Lambert A and B, with approximately 4 ships loaded per day.
