About the Role
We are seeking Lubrication Technicians for roles within our Fixed Plant Maintenance team at Newman mine site. You will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting and maintaining Fixed Plant Equipment in line with the preventative maintenance strategies.
This is a Residential Role working a Lifestyle roster in the town of Newman. We can assist with housing and relocation for this role. Technicians with mechanical equipment knowledge that drive the frontline application of “Five Rs” of lubrication (Right Type, Quantity, Quality, Location, Time) will be highly regarded. Nevertheless, extensive training will be provided to the right motivated candidates.
The successful candidate will:
- Safely complete maintenance work as per maintenance schedules and work instructions
- Responsible for the lubrication of fixed plant equipment such as conveyors, pulleys, gear boxes and electric motors.
- Be proactive and committed to completing field leadership activities
- Check scopes of corrective work, and initiate where required
- Work with team members from your shift and other functions, updating supervisors and systems accurately
- Enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds
- Gain exposure to maintenance and production environments
Location
This position will be offered to the successful candidate as a working and residing in Newman arrangement.
About You
We are seeking an energetic and motivated person for the position of Lubrication Technician. Individuals must be passionate about continuous improvement and ensure a constant compliance with all safety standards, policies, guidelines and procedures. Have a strong interest in fixed plant equipment, heavy machinery and materials handling equipment from mining or minerals processing industry. Our ideal candidate should have some exposure in the maintenance area and have some knowledge of the tasks related to fixed plant equipment lubrication activities.
As the successful candidate, you will possess the following:
- Mining or heavy industrial/manufacturing experience would be highly regarded
- Ensure compliance to all relevant safety standards
- Mechanical trade qualified or technically minded and interested in working in a ‘hands on’ role
- Experience with completing lubrication inspections, changing oil and taking oil samples, greasing and lubricating equipment is advantageous
- A trade assistant background (mechanical) or MLA Level 1 certification, whilst not mandatory, would be highly regarded
- Forklift ticket highly desirable
- Working at Heights ticket highly regarded
- Valid Australian C class (manual) driver’s license required
- HR truck License highly regarded
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team
- High levels of planning, organising and ability to prioritise tasks
