ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 40-hour per week dayshift roster. Our Worsley Refinery is a short drive from communities such as Collie (20 Minutes) & Bunbury (45 Minutes) which all offer an enviable country lifestyle. Surrounded by magnificent jarrah forests, pristine beaches and world-famous wineries, you will live and work in one of the most beautiful regions of Western Australia and still be home each night. 

Candidates should ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie as there is no accommodation on site.

As the Technician Maintenance Heavy Diesel, you will be responsible for safely executing maintenance activities that maximise equipment performance, reliability and plant availability while meeting maintenance schedules, work instructions and operational requirements.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Complete planned, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities in line with agreed schedules.
  • Maintain accurate work orders, equipment history and transactional data within SAP.
  • Contribute to fault finding, root cause investigations and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement through effective work planning, procedure updates and accurate materials management.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

  • Working within a maintenance environment supporting fixed plant or heavy industrial equipment.
  • Building collaborative relationships with operational, maintenance and contractor teams.
  • Applying safe work practices and contributing to a strong safety culture.
  • Troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying practical, effective solutions.
  • Managing competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of work quality.
  • Using maintenance systems and digital tools to capture data, track work and support decision-making.

Qualifications for this position are:  

  • Successful completion of a Heavy Equipment Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship and holds a nationally recognised trade certification
  • Current C class driver’s license

Desirable:

  • HR Class Driver’s License, High Risk Work License for forklift, High risk Elevated work platform, High Risk Dogman License, Overhead Crane, High Risk Basic rigging. Experience on Caterpillar, Hitachi SME advantageous.
