About the Role

 Blackwater mine lies 73 kilometres south-east of Emerald in Queensland. It's one of the longest coal mines in the Southern Hemisphere, with a strike length of 80 kilometres. Both thermal and metallurgical coal are extracted using truck and shovel, as well as loader and dragline. Bituminous coal is mined from the Permian Moranbah and Rangal Coal Measures, while complex seam splitting occurs along the mine’s strike length.  We are currently seeking a safety-focused Lubrication Technician to join the team at the Blackwater Coal Handling Preparation Plant (CHPP). The roster is 4 days on, 3 days off - therefore the ideal candidate must be local to Blackwater, or based in Queensland.

About you

You will have the following experience:

  • Lubrication Technician Cert (Australian recognised)
  • Demonstrated experience with fixed plant maintenance, ideally within a CHPP environment.
  • Previous experience within mining is preferred
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Ability to work to deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Effective listening and strong interpersonal skills
