Our Operations – Olympic Dam

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well-equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities

About the Role 

• Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
• Perform planned, unplanned and or breakdown maintenance both on all areas of site and in remote areas, assist other trade disciplines and Operational personnel where required
• Develop close working relationships with operations personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and rectified immediately
• Provide continual feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on job progress
• Engage in safety and improvement initiatives, identify and report on any unsafe equipment
• Perform Maintenance work as per weekly schedule and during full plant outages
• Supervise and coordinate contractors as required
• Create accurate and detailed notifications from mechanical inspections
• Contribute to the development of Maintenance Procedures
• Maintain tools and equipment as well as a high level of housekeeping in all work areas
• Assist with developing scopes of work, THA’s and creation of breakdown work orders 

About You

• Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's way
• Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and functions of the asset
• Ability to work well alone and as a team
• Trade qualified Plumber (essential)
• Ticketed to perform poly-welding (Electrofusion & Extrusion)
• Forklift licence preferred but not essential
• Backhoe ticket essential excavator ticket is highly desired
• Backflow prevention certification essential
• Must hold a current drivers license and be able to drive a manual light vehicle
• Previous experience in operational areas (Desalination Plant, Saline and Borefield) is highly desirable Ability to work and communicate effectively with Operations, Planning and other area personnel
• Proficient in the use of 1SAP/Fiori or similar preferred, but not essential
