Our Operations – Olympic Dam
One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well-equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities
About the Role
- Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
- Perform planned, unplanned and or breakdown maintenance both on all areas of site and in remote areas, assist other trade disciplines and Operational personnel where required
- Develop close working relationships with operations personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and rectified immediately
- Provide continual feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor on job progress
- Engage in safety and improvement initiatives, identify and report on any unsafe equipment
- Perform Maintenance work as per weekly schedule and during full plant outages
- Supervise and coordinate contractors as required
- Create accurate and detailed notifications from mechanical inspections
- Contribute to the development of Maintenance Procedures
- Maintain tools and equipment as well as a high level of housekeeping in all work areas
- Assist with developing scopes of work, THA’s and creation of breakdown work orders
About You
- Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's way
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels and functions of the asset
- Ability to work well alone and as a team
- Trade qualified Plumber (essential)
- Ticketed to perform poly-welding (Electrofusion & Extrusion)
- Forklift licence preferred but not essential
- Backhoe ticket essential excavator ticket is highly desired
- Backflow prevention certification essential
- Must hold a current drivers license and be able to drive a manual light vehicle
- Previous experience in operational areas (Desalination Plant, Saline and Borefield) is highly desirable Ability to work and communicate effectively with Operations, Planning and other area personnel
- Proficient in the use of 1SAP/Fiori or similar preferred, but not essential
