We are looking for x2 Technician Site Communications to safely carry out inspections, scheduled maintenance, and breakdown maintenance of all site communication components.

Reporting to the Site Communications Supervisor, and working in a collaborative community within Core Services Utilities, you will be:
Conducting inspections, scheduled maintenance, installation, and breakdown for part of the Mine Communications network (i.e., Satellite, Analog Radio, VMR, Fibre Network, Security)
Conducting inspections, scheduled maintenance, and breakdown for part of the Rail Systems Infrastructure
Building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and managing customer expectations
Working within a team setting and autonomously to reach a desired outcome
Identifying improvement opportunities to create a more effective and efficient workplace
Ensuring that maintenance is of a high quality and re-work is not required
Utilising SAP to raise notifications and enter reliability and maintenance activity information
What you’ll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Trade qualification in Radio Communications, Electronic Communications or relevant experience
Experience in fibre fault finding and maintenance including splicing of fibre
A good understanding of IP based protocol, safety systems and demonstrated strong health & safety performance
Western Australian Manual C class driver’s licence
Collaborative approach and very customer focused mentality
Experience in Analog and digital radios
Experience in mobile radio network (LTE) and security
Experience in Pit Technology Solutions (i.e., Survey Technology, Wall Monitoring Solutions)

Where you’ll be working
Our Gudai-Darri iron ore mine is our most technologically advanced mine. In addition to leveraging technology already in use across Rio Tinto, such as autonomous trucks, trains and drills, Gudai-Darri also has more than 70 design innovations including a reclaimer with a rotable bucket wheel, a world class laboratory and in-field access to data and systems for all team members.
The Caterpillar mining fleet at Gudai-Darri includes autonomous trucks, production drills, and in a world first, autonomous water carts.
Located 110km north-west of Newman, Gudai-Darri will produce up to 43 million tonnes of iron ore a year in its first phase, contributing to our flagship product, the Pilbara Blend™. It will also become a production hub for our iron ore business, incorporating world class infrastructure and a 166-kilometre rail line connecting the mine to our existing network.
Gudai-Darri is creating jobs and business opportunities in Western Australia. More than 2,000 people have been employed as part of its construction with approximately 600 permanent operational roles created.
