We are looking for a Technology Delivery Manager – Digital Products to provide direction and leadership to a team that solves complex business problems by delivering next generation surface mining products and solutions across Rio Tinto’s operating regions. This role sits within Group Technical and works across all product groups.
Rio Tinto has a long history of being a leader in the mining industry in the development and deployment of technology. We now have a wide range of state-of-the-art products and platforms that cover real-time data processing, 3D visualisation, and automated embedded systems deployed around the world. The Technology Delivery Manager – Digital Products role is key to building on this success.
Reporting to the General Manager Services and Delivery and working in an exciting environment, this role is responsible for partnering with various parts of the business to understand their needs and problems, and leverage the skills across the team that you lead to promote and drive value extraction from the products currently being used and champion the development, evaluation and use of new products in collaboration with our IT and procurement partners.
The team members and their capabilities are in high demand, and a key capability of the successful candidate should be to demonstrate how they collaborate with peers and colleagues in establishing company priorities and ensure those priorities get delivered effectively. You will also have responsibilities to lead teams, deal with 3rd party vendors, strategic planning, budgeting, onboarding new team members and you will ensure effective transfer of knowledge and expertise across the global business. You will also build a culture that reflects our core values or Care, Courage and Curiosity and always put the safety or your team and your colleagues first. This role will be responsible for the product ownership of a number of our digital products, having an understanding of product ownership will be an advantage. A background in operational mining environments would be an advantage in order to help prioritize and scope our digital work.
You will naturally embrace a growth mindset and foster collaborative ways of working to deliver the next generation of state-of-art products and solutions for surface mining, harnessing collaborative ways of working that drive inclusivity, excellence and build meaningful partnerships. You’ll actively create collaboration opportunities with other teams across Rio Tinto to deliver the next generation of technology.
