ABOUT THE ROLE

FFI is presently seeking Technology Leads within the Technology Development Team to drive assessment and development of a portfolio of hydrogen technologies to support the FFI technology roadmap. An opportunity exists for a world leading professional in the emerging field of Direct Air Capture (DAC) to join FFI’s Science and Technology team to assist in the development and deployment of DAC technology within FFI’s project portfolio.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES 

  • Technical focal point for DAC technologies and processes
  • Identify leading technologies and players in the DAC field
  • Develop the strategy and roadmap for FFI to implement DAC technologies within its green fuels projects
  • Lead in-house DAC technology development and commercial deployment within FFI’s project portfolio
  • Stay abreast of the rapidly growing DAC landscape and how this impacts the market attractiveness
  • Undertake due diligence investigations to support the evaluation of technologies for development and investment opportunities
  • Provide technical leadership to research and development projects
  • Manage relationships with DAC technology partners and OEMs
  • Assist in building and interpreting detailed technical and economic models with the data analytics team
  • Report progress on development programs – action tracker, timing, deliverables, milestones and budget.
  • Participation in specific detail design reviews and evaluations including technical safety reviews of design, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, QRA, risk analysis

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelors degree or higher in engineering, chemistry, materials science or physics
  • 10+ years experience in Carbon Capture technologies and products with experience in research and development
  • Extensive knowledge of Direct Air Capture technologies, major players and current landscape
  • Demonstrated track record in technology development
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and experience participating in design safety reviews
  • Strategic and analytical skills
  • Ability to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking, and be prepared to work outside the comfort zone
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
