LOCATION
Ideally, this role will be based at our office in Perth, South-West of WA or Brisbane. We understand and value the benefits flexibility brings and operate a hybrid work model (in the office and from home) Other locations may also be considered for the right candidate

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Technology Portfolio Lead for Australia Operations, you will lead and enable the successful and timely delivery of technology Portfolio’s/Projects. This role will facilitate the management and delivery of an idea from feasibility through to execution and hand over to support, ensuring appropriate governance and project management methodologies are adhered to.
You will maintain a close working relationship between Technology teams, the Corporate Functions, Operations and external partners/providers to understand how innovation and evolving technologies can be leveraged to add value to the South32 business. The Principal Technology Projects will help bring sustained changes and improvements to how people work and communicate across the organisation.
In line with the above, key accountabilities include:
- Lead the development and execution of Technology Portfolio’s across Australia Operations
- Lead Project portfolio outcomes to ensure they are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget, whilst minimising change requests
- Provide mentoring and coaching in support of continual improvement of project delivery
- Actively provide thought leadership in the area of Programme and Project Delivery
- Delivery Assurance of Vendor deliverables and outcomes within the Project lifecycle
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- Direct work experience (at least 7 years) in a project and program management capacity with experience in managing teams (5-10 reports)
- Mining industry experience is mandatory
- A well-rounded understanding and experience of leading large portfolio’s of work across a technology landscape and the ability to influence and manage project resources to achieve the desired outcomes
- High Level of Commercial Management experience
- Ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences (e.g. management, technical specialists, vendors and operators) including strong presentation, communication and workshop facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality analysis and documentation that concisely captures business and technical requirement(s)
Qualifications for this position are:
- Relevant Tertiary degree, specialised training, or equivalent work experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification or equivalent
