About Rio Tinto

Every idea, every innovation, every little thing the world calls ‘progress’ begins with a first step, and someone willing to take it: explorers, inventors, entrepreneurs. Pioneers.

For nearly 150 years, Rio Tinto has been a company of pioneers – generations of people spanning the globe, all with the grit and vision to produce materials essential to human progress.

Our iron ore has shaped skylines from Shanghai to Sydney. Our aluminium – the world’s first to be certified “responsible” – helps planes fly and makes cars lighter. Our copper helps wind turbines power cities and our boron helps feed the world, and explore the universe.

Our diamonds help us celebrate the best parts of life.

Where you’ll be working

At Rio Tinto Exploration, we are investing in growth for the future – starting with the exploration for new sources of essential materials. Our talented team of explorers are constantly searching the world, seeking to create value for the business by discovering and acquiring economically, socially and environmentally sustainable resources. We have 63 programmes in eight commodities across 16 countries.

We’re focused on fast-tracking technologies, data and using analytical insights to unlock value and improve the effectiveness and efficiency at every stage of the exploration process. We’re looking for a diverse team of leaders in technology and data science experts to drive our technology strategy and create viable discovery opportunities for Rio Tinto.

Role based in any of the Rio Tinto Exploration hubs (Reading, Salt Lake City, Perth, Brisbane, Santiago, Lima and Vancouver).
